It has happened. My son Bayley who is 8 has expressed interest in a girl. I don't know if I should cry or laugh. My wife broke the news to me the other day. Luckily, Bayley has no problem talking to his mother and telling her everything. So they are driving in the car and out of no where my son drops the bomb. "Mom I like a girl". “Her name is Sarah". “Is she in your class?" "No, she is in Sawyers (cousin) class." "Oh, when do you see her?" "Sometimes at Recess." "Does she know you like her?" "Yes, Sawyer told her. I told him not to say anything, but he did anyway."
Well, what did she say?" "Sawyer said you like me." "And what did you say back"
Now comes the kicker. This is so Bayley, and it makes me proud and very very scared.
“Well!! It’s true." Not much of a poker player. He just showed all his cards. Then he says to Candice, “I wasn't going to lie to someone I like mom!"

As Candice and I pondered the conversation Bayley had with his Mother, we wondered if we should be worried. But then we thought back to our first interest and when it took place. Candice said she held a Boy's hand in the first grade. This made me a little jealous, but I was able to let it go. I remember I stole my sisters Apple ring to give to Renee in the 3rd grade. Of course my mother found out and I had to ask for it back. That was not pretty. So I guess Bay is on Par with where Candice and I were at the same age, and now I know we should be worried. :)
